Lumen Christi College is a Catholic school promoting the Catholic Faith and the Gospel values of Jesus Christ in all aspects of its academic and pastoral provision. It also does so specifically through the provision of taught Religious Education and opportunities for collective worship.

Parents who wish to withdraw their child from Religious Education or collective worship in full or in part should contact the principal to obtain the appropriate withdrawal form. Upon completion and return of the form appropriate arrangements will be made. The college is required by DE to keep a record of all such withdrawals.

Religious Education is taught in form class from Year 8 to Year 10. In Year 11 &12 pupils take CCEA GCSE Religious Studies focussing on the study of a Gospel and Ethics.

All pupils are invited to join us for daily Morning Prayer in the College Chapel, and a First Friday Mass is held each month for a particular year group. Collective Worship is also experienced in our annual retreats and assemblies for each year group.

Lumen Christi College is a community inspired by the person and message of Christ, whose commandment to “love one another as I have loved you” is the foundation of our educational mission. This gives rise to an ethos which is Gospel-inspired, person-centred, life-affirming, reflective and worshipping, and welcoming and inclusive. Such an ethos is not confined to Religious Education or acts of collective worship but permeates the whole life of the school.
